Wilde is pleased to participate in the 9th edition of Art Monte-Carlo in Monaco with a solo presentation by artist Robin Wen.
Wen’s practice draws on the visual and symbolic world of free parties — clandestine techno gatherings often held in remote, rural spaces. Through hyperrealistic drawings in blue ballpoint pen, large-scale oil paintings, and sculptural installations, he captures the raw poetry and fragile power of these ephemeral communities. His works explore themes of anonymity, resistance, and desire, elevating a marginalized subculture to the realm of classical painting while infusing it with a deeply personal, political, and spiritual dimension.
For this special presentation, Robin Wen unveils a new body of works created specifically for artmonte-carlo. Continuing his exploration of rave culture, these new pieces focus on the subtle details of presence and absence — a deserted tent, a glowing light in the night, a pair of bodies locked in an embrace. With his signature mix of documentary precision and dreamlike atmosphere, Wen invites us to step into a parallel world shaped by ritual, rhythm, and radical freedom.
Through a unique visual language rooted in both the sacred and the subversive, Robin Wen offers an intimate and powerful reflection on a generation’s search for escape, community, and transcendence.
